Chapman Machinery Ltd have just completed a small production improvement programme in conjunction with funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
The focus of the project was to improve throughput and quality of the manufactured product, covered under three main aspects;
1. Insulation of roof area in the fabrication building to promote better energy efficiency and combat extremes of heat
2. Installation of advanced Plymovent air filtration unit to improve the working environment in the fabrication building
3. Purchase of a specialised tapping machine to automate tapping and threading of all holes.
Funding for this project was 55% provided by Chapman machinery Ltd, and 45% provided by ERDF programme, administered through the Cornwall development Company.
As part of the project Chapman Machinery Ltd have created 2 new positions within the company to be able to continue to meet growing demand from the EU for it’s products.
